Student Eligibility & Team Roster

To be completed by the student:

TAPPS Student Course Dashboard

  1. Ready Writing will be taken on the TAPPS Course Dashboard.
  2. Each student will need to register for an account and reply to an email prior to their test.
  1. If your student participated in Ready Writing last year, they should still have an account. They will just need to update their information with any changes. (Skip to step 4)
  1. Create Student Course Dashboard Account
  1. Students will need to go to teams.tapps.biz

  1. Fill out the Register Section.
  1. Create a username for each student account.  Make it something you both can remember. Ex. First part of email address or FirstMiddleLastBirthYear: JohnKSmith2005
  2. Enter the Student email address.  This must be the student email address as each account will need a different email address.
  3. Role: STUDENT
  4. Click Register
  1. Check Email for the Registration Confirmation Email.
  2. The Confirmation email will have a link to set a password.  Click the link in the email to create a password.
  3. Create the password.  Click the view password icon to be sure it is how you intend it to be. Be sure to write it down. Click Reset password.

 

  1. To login to the Course Dashboard: go to teams.tapps.biz
  1. On the LOGIN side, Enter Username or email address
  2. Enter Password
  3. Login
  1. Once in the Course Dashboard, Click Profile
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the profile to the Groups Setting: Activities
  3. Select Ready Writing. Make sure your student clicks the correct classification (1A, 2A …)

  1. Click Update Profile at the bottom.


Entry Instructions

READY WRITING

Students will complete Ready Writing on the TAPPS Course Dashboard. They will need to register prior  to the test date in order to respond to a registration email.  See above instructions on creating a TAPPS Course Dashboard Account for each student.

***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** Ready Writing Competition takes place February 13 - 17.  You may choose the day that works best for your students.  All Students from your school must test on the same date at the same time. Testing may begin as early as 8:30 am and must start no later than 4:00 pm on the chosen day.

STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS 

You have 90 minutes to compose an original, well‐developed expository essay. Expository writing explains, proves,

or explores a topic in a balanced way, allowing the argument and the evidence given to be the deciding factor in

the paper. Descriptive or narrative passages may be used to illustrate or reinforce an idea or point that is being

explained, but must be clearly subordinate or incidental to the exposition. All writing should pertain and develop

the prompt. A title is required, and essays submitted without a title will be disqualified.

REVIEW ALL STEPS WITH YOUR STUDENTS PRIOR TO THEIR COMPLETING THEM SO THEY ARE AWARE OF EXPECTATIONS

*If the student does not click FINISH QUIZ by the 90 minute limit, the system will automatically submit and finish the quiz.  There is no overtime allowance.
